Adopting an emotively visceral form of avant-garde electropop, the multidisciplined NYC-based vocalist, songwriter, designer, and creative director Laura Wass emerged as a curious presence drawn to music as a creative outlet. Mostly known for her aesthetic identity and abstract interpretation of design, she has associated her design work over the years with clients like Beyoncé, Childish Gambino, Erykah Badu, and Janelle Monaé. Her work has been featured Under the moniker Wass, taken from the artist’s surname, her project surfaces upon the introspective and empowering nature of processing emotion.

Finding a platform for her spirituality and self through music, it served as a natural complement that felt productive to her nomadic lifestyle, in which she found herself writing songs during her time in Spain and Argentina. Her music encompasses themes that touch upon the premise of deep human connection, communion with nature, contemporary dance, and the immersive respite within innovative theater. Wass now branches out to create her own auditory world of tantalizing energy within the sphere of pop music.

Her debut EP, in the dark, is to be expected early 2020.

Molly With Charles

Molly With Charles

Molly With Charles is an alt-R&B and pop-soul duo that emerged from berkeley, california, circa 2016. Through Molly with Charles, the band seeks to convey raw, introspective emotion with an emphasis towards acrobatic musicality and songwriting. After releasing a string of whimsical pastel-like selection of records beginning early 2017, the duo prepares for their most comprehensive body of work, Ownership.

The two members that comprise the band, Molly Arizona and Charles Nutrivore, met in their high school years and committed the summer after their graduation towards writing a handful of songs in the two weeks before singer Molly Arizona would frequent the East Coast for university. This myriad of songs would go on to become their first body of work, Q+M, including a feature from DMV-based singer Marco McKinnis. Released in January 2017, they steadily gained buzz on the strength of their lead single Playing with the Moon, which has currently merited over 750,000+ streams across all DSPs and with praise from publications like IndieShuffle.

After a freshman year of pre-med studies, Molly Arizona intuitively decided to pivot into music and move to LA to reunite with Charles. Since then, the duo has been hard at work on their full-length LP entitled Ownership. Their first single off the project, Strawberry, was released on March 2nd, 2019 complemented by a beautifully shot music video in New York City.

From there, the band embarked on a short tour in July and August of that year, supporting two venue dates for Olu Bliss in Los Angeles and San Francisco, along with a string of intimate performances in Portland, NYC, and Vancouver. With the band continuing to pack out rooms in the Bay Area, Molly with Charles demonstrates their prowess and potential to their craft.

On several occasions, the band performs as a seven piece inclusive of trumpet, bass, guitar, keys, drums, and background vocalists to add onto their own musicality; with this setup, the band brings energy and whimsical depth to their material on a live capacity.
