His career began in 2014 when he became an intern/studio assistant at Cue Recording Studios. He caught a break when he was asked to assist in recording a Jam session for Sheryl Crow and Roger Waters formerly of Pink Floyd. From there he worked his way up to a main engineer in 2015, where he would later meet the then growing artist GoldLink. The two grew a chemistry that allowed them to record Goldlink’s debut label album titled “At What Cost” where Javon had some compostion and vocal production credits. The lead single from the album “Crew” drew a Grammy Nomination for “Best Rap/Sung Collaboration” in 2017. Since the nomination Javon has gone on to receive two more GRAMMY nominations the following year for his recording/mixing work on Christina Aguilera’s “Like I Do” for “Best Rap/Sung Collaboration” and on Chloe x Halle’s The Kids Are Alright for “Best Urban Contemporary Album”.
